Con el número se hace la fuerza
Cuentame publicó este video donde hablo sobre la importancia de informarse, y la responsabilidad que tenemos los periodistas en el proceso, imprescindible para que la gente se organice y logre sus objetivos colectivos. Este es el texto:
¿Qué puede hacer la comunidad para unirse, para marcar una diferencia, para avanzar los asuntos que son importantes para todos los latinos?
Hay varias respuestas, pero la primera es informarse. Conocer. Educarse. Leer el diario. Entrar el internet y buscar las noticias. Comentarlas con la familia, con los amigos, con la gente en el trabajo.
De modo que lo primero es eso, informarse, estar al tanto.
Y es también lo primero que debemos hacer nosotros, los que estamos en los medios de comunicación. Informar a la gente. Darles sus opciones. Que sepan qué es lo que sucede. Que sepan qué es lo que pueden hacer.
En segundo lugar, aquellas personas que van a estar realmente informadas, se van a organizar. Van a buscar a otras personas que sean de la misma opinión. Van a llegar a ellos personas que sean organizadores.
Y van a ir adelante, porque con el número se hace la fuerza.

What can the community do to come together, to make a difference, to advance the issues that are important for all Latinos? There are various answers, but the first one is to become informed, learn things, become educated, read the paper, log on to the internet and look for news and share it with your families.
That’s the first thing, to become informed and be up to date.
And that’s also the first thing we, who are involved in the media should do: inform people, give them options, so they know what is going on, and what is it they can do.
Second, those people who are going to be truly informed are going to organize. They’re going to look for other people who are of the same mind set, they’re going to be approached by people who are organizers, and they’re going to move forward, because out of the number of people comes strength.
